Earlier this week, Petrobras launched a new tender for the charter of up to four drilling rigs. The tender is divided into three non-excluding lots and the opening of the envelopes with the proposals is scheduled, in principle, for the 17th of March. According to the rules of the tender, only the 13 companies pre-qualified for the competition will be able to participate in this bidding process.
The drilling companies eligible for the dispute are: Brasdrill, Constellation, Dolphin, Ensco, Etesco, NE Drilling, Ocyan, Odfjell, Saipem, Seadrill, Stena, Transocean and Ventura. The complete documentation regarding the bidding is available on the Petronect website (nº 7004009573). Both semi-submersible units and drillships will be accepted.
Lot 1 provides for the contracting of up to two high-specification dynamic positioning rigs, capable of operating in water depths of up to 3,048 meters, with MPD (pressure management systems). The mobilization period will be up to 390 days, counted from the signature of the contract. The scheduled start date for services on this lot will be between March and November 2024.
In lot 2, Petrobras will contract a dynamic positioning rig with a high specification, capable of operating in water depths of up to 2,400 meters. Also in this case, the mobilization period is up to 390 days, valid from the signature of the contract. In addition, the scheduled start date for services is the same as for lot 1 (between March and November 2024).
Finally, lot 3 of the tender will have the contracting of a positioning rig, with the capacity to operate in water depths of up to 2,400 meters. The mobilization period will be up to 360 days, counted from the signature of the contract. The scheduled start date for services will be between January and November 2024.
The classification procedure in Lots will be based on the best price per lot, and the priority order for cases in which the same unit is classified in more than one lot will be as follows: Lot 1 (highest priority), Lot 2 and Lot 3 (lowest priority)
