Wintershall Dea do Brasil Exploration and Production Ltda. is the eighth company registered for the 17th Bidding Round for the exploration and production of oil and natural gas, scheduled for October. 92 blocks with exploratory risk will be offered, with a total area of 53,93 thousand km², located in 11 sectors with high potential and new frontiers in four Brazilian maritime sedimentary basins: Campos, Pelotas, Potiguar and Santos.

Wintershall’s registration was approved, at a meeting of the Special Tender Commission (CEL), and published today in the Federal Official Gazette (DOU). In previous meetings, Petrobras, Chevron Brasil Óleo e Gás Ltda., Shell Brasil Petróleo Ltda., Total Energies EP Brasil Ltda., Ecopetrol Óleo e Gás do Brasil Ltda., Murphy Exploration & Production Company and Karoon Petróleo e Gás Ltda were approved. The number of applicants may increase, as another CEL meeting is scheduled to address the issue.

The registered companies met all the requirements set out in the notice and are eligible to participate in the round. Registration is mandatory and individual for each interested party, even for those who intend to present an offer through a consortium. Once the requirements established in the notice have been complied with, and the registration has been judged and approved by CEL, the company may present offers only for blocks located in the sectors for which it has paid a participation fee and provided a guarantee for the offer.

The qualification process of companies (operator A, B or non-operator) will only be carried out for the winning companies on the day of the public session for the submission of bids, a procedure adopted since the 13th Round.

Petrobras says that it has started the opportunity disclosure stage (teaser), regarding the sale of the entire 20% stake held by its subsidiary Petrobras America Inc. (PAI) in the company MP Gulf of Mexico, LLC. (MPGoM), located in Texas, USA, which owns offshore fields in the Gulf of Mexico.     The teaser, which includes key information about the opportunity, as well as the eligibility criteria for the selection of potential participants, is available on the Petrobras Investor Relations website: https://www.investidorpetrobras.com.br/en/results-and-notices/teasers.   The main subsequent stages of the project will be reported to the market in due course. This disclosure is in accordance with Petrobras' internal rules.   This transaction is in line with the company's strategy of portfolio optimization, debt reduction, and capital allocation improvement, as it increasingly concentrates its resources in world-class assets in deep and ultradeep waters in Brazil, where Petrobras has shown a great competitive edge over the years.   Source: Market Screener   PDF Link   Join our mailing list here We are #1 on Google and Bing for the "Largest Mobile Energy Network" Come join our community!   PIE Oil & Gas Services, a subsidiary of SPIE, has been awarded a contract from Chevron Australia Pty Ltd to provide Process Automation Systems (PAS) integration services for its subsea gas compression system for the Jansz-Io field, offshore Western Australia.   The Jansz-Io gas field is located around 200 kilometers off the north-western coast of Western Australia, at water depths of approximately 1,400 meters. The field is a part of the Chevron-operated Gorgon facility, one of the world's largest natural gas developments. As the reservoir pressure of the Jansz-Io field declines after years of production, compression infrastructure is required to enhance the recoverability of the field.   The services are carried out by the local Australian subsidiary, SPIE Oil & Gas Services Pty Ltd, and cover all systems integration engineering associated with the subsea gas compression system and field control station along with brownfield modifications required on the existing Gorgon facilities. The engineering services will be also executed in multiple global centers with SPIE’s embedded personnel working closely with EPC [1] design teams.   Work has already commenced on the project and presents an opportunity for SPIE Oil & Gas Services to showcase its technical expertise in tiebacks of greenfield subsea systems to existing operational LNG infrastructure.   “We are very pleased to have been selected for this complex and one-of-a-kind project. It further solidifies our position as a global main automation contractor of choice, for major operators worldwide. We look forward to delivering our specialist engineering services that leverage off our global reach in these challenging times”, commented Christophe Bernhart, Managing Director of SPIE Oil & Gas Services.   SPIE Oil & Gas Services Pty Ltd has been working with Chevron Australia since 2012. The Chevron-operated Gorgon Project is a joint venture between the Australian subsidiaries of Chevron (47.333 percent), ExxonMobil (25 percent), Shell (25 percent), Osaka Gas (1.25 percent), Tokyo Gas (1 percent) and JERA (0.417 percent).   [1] Engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC)   Source: SPIE   Join our mailing list here We are #1 on Google and Bing for the "Largest Mobile Energy Network" Come join our community!
