In August 26 rigs were put back to work worldwide

Baker Hughes issued their international rig count data, here is the breakdown:

The international rig count for June is 777, up 26 units from the count in July and up 30 units from the 744 counted in August 2020.

  • Latin America is up 4 units to a total of 138 from the July count of 134 units and up 63 units year-over-year.

  • The Asia-Pacific region is up 11 units for a total of 198 and down 2 units from its year-ago average of 200.

  • Africa is up 7 units to a total of 75 from the July count of 68 units and up 13 units from its August 2020 average of 62.

  • Europe is up 6 units to a total of 105 from the August count of 99 units, and down 4 units year-over-year.

  • The Middle East is down 2 units to a total of 261 from the July count of 263 units, and down 40 units year-over-year.
