According to Esgian, an Oslo based company that provides analytical tools for the energy industry, noted that Petrobras declared Seadrill the winning company for Lot 1, unit with MPD, as the Norwegian drilling contractor offered in West Tellus and West carina at the most competitive rates. The tender was issued earlier this year and was for the contracting of at least two deepwater drilling rigs for 1,095 days, with the option to terminate on the 580th day of operation. The contracts' commencement date is September 2022. The lot 2, unit without MPD, remains in the negotiation stage.
