144 rigs put back to work internationally since October 2020

Baker Hughes issued their international rig count data, here is the breakdown:

The international rig count for October is 800, up 13 units from the count in September and up 144 units from the 656 counted in October 2020.

  • Latin America is up 12 units to a total of 152 from the September count of 140 units and up 66 units year-over-year.

  • The Asia-Pacific region is down 4 units for a total of 190 and up 20 units from its year-ago average of 170.

  • Africa is up 1 unit to a total of 79 from the September count of 78 units and up 25 units from its October 2020 average of 54.

  • Europe is down 2 units to a total of 104 from the September count of 106 units, and up 4 units year-over-year.

  • The Middle East is up 6 units to a total of 275 from the September count of 269 units, and down 30 units year-over-year.
