According to the recent floater report from Bassoe today:
It’s been a good month for contract awards in Australia, with Diamond winning three semisub awards, including a six-well contract with Beach Energy for the 1973-built Ocean Onyx which is being reactivated and upgraded. Transocean also announced a 4+4 well contract with Chevron in Australia for the DD KG2 drillship.
Utilization and dayrates (especially for drillships) are moving in the right direction, and values may see some upward movement toward the end of Q1.
The Noble Amos Runner was sold for scrap recently and Transocean has decided to scrap the 2011-built 6th gen drillship, Ocean Rig Paros (ex-Cerrado).
