Jackup fixtures have recently been focused on the Middle East, Mexico, and Malaysia. There are still around 13 jackups which have won multi-year work in Mexico and Qatar which are yet to be named, and further awards are expected in SE Asia, India, and West Africa. Utilization should remain above 75% and reach 80% this year, but premium rig dayrates ($65-100,000) need to gain more momentum. Share prices have suffered because of this, and asset values have moved lower (more info in our recent note).
No sales were recorded since our last report, but we estimate that 10 to 12 rigs will be sold for scrap in the coming months. Â Â
