International Rig Count Down 20 Units in April

Baker Hughes issued their international rig count data, here is the breakdown:

The international rig count for April is 695, down 20 units from the count in March and down 220 units from the 915 counted in April 2020.

  • Latin America is down 9 units to a total of 118 from the March count of 125 units and is up 29 units year-over-year.

  • The Asia-Pacific region is down 3 units to a total of 167 from the March count of 170 and down 24 units from its year-ago average of 191.

  • Africa is up 2 units to a total of 61 from the March count of 59 units and down 42 units from its April 2020 average of 108.

  • Europe is down 3 units to a total of 97 from the March count of 100 units, and down 15 units year-over-year.

  • The Middle East is down 9 units to a total of 252 from the March count of 261 units, and down 168 units year-over-year.
