The international rig count for August was 747, up 4 units from the count in July and down 391 from the 1,138 counted in August 2019.

Latin America is up 1 unit to 75 from the July count of 74 units and is down 119 units year-over-year.

The Asia-Pacific region is up 7 units to 200 from the July count of 193 units and down 20 units from its year-ago average of 220.

Africa is up 6 units from the July count of 56 units and down 53 units from its August 2019 average of 115.

Europe is up 4 units from the July count of 105 units, and down 84 units year-over-year.

The Middle East is down 14 units from the July count of 315 units, and down 115 units year-over-year.
