Japan Drilling Co., Ltd. (JDC) is pleased to announce that its subsidiary company “PT. Japan Drilling Indonesia†together with a shipping company in Indonesia has entered into a drilling contract with Medco E&P Natuna Ltd. for the provision of a semi-submersible drilling rig “HAKURYU-5â€.
The main terms of the drilling contract are as follows:
| 1. Operating Area： | Offshore Natuna, Indoensia |
| 2. Estimated Commencement Time： | Around July – August 2019 |
| 3. Period of Contract： | 2 firm wells (approx. 123 days) + 2 option wells (approx. 98 days) |
The HAKURYU-5 is a 1977 model Mitsubishi MD-501 3rd generation semi-submersible that was upgraded in 2014 and was in the Malacca straits as of Jan 21 according to vesselfinder.com
