Ocean Rig Poseidon commenced its contract with ENI Angola S.p.A. (“ENIâ€) for drilling offshore Angola. This contract has been entered into following the previously announced LOI. ENI has exercised its two optional wells making it a firm four-well program that is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2019.

Previously we reported the vessel being mobilized into Namibia mid-June to kick off its contract with Tullow, since then they have completed this contract and went on to work with Chariot on Prospect S, this was a one well firm and option of adding 1.
Seems Ocean Rig has been successful with adding work for the vessel short term to short term, for us we see that if you get a vessel into a region it will get work, especially now since the absorbing of mobilization fees are now taken onto the drilling contractors and not the operators just out of simplicity and market driven quantification.
Also just to add, the previous announcement of Ocean Rig being acquired by Transocean, shareholders from both companies will meet November 29th, assuming a positive vote by both companies, they expect the merger to close in December.
