As August comes to an end so does week 35, here are your top posts for this past week, some good ones in there with Borr leading the pack as they have often done before here with OutPut and the birth of fracking. We see Borr as a significant player in the shallow water sector going into the future, they are making plays and signing contracts seems like every day and of course you know what fracking is doing for the US economy and world supply so that is no surprise!
So here we go, we start of with Borr landing some work for rest of 2018 and an LOI for 2019!

20 years ago, this domestic U.S. energy changing event was born
The anniversary of a world-changing event passed the first of August that did not get nearly enough attention in the press. It clearly was a market-changing event, or I would not be writing about it. Just ask Will Hickey, the 31-year-old chief executive officer of Colgate Energy.
Standing on a 26-foot high rig platform in Texas’s Reeves County, Hickey watches as contractors maneuver drilling pipe almost 10,000 feet underground in search of oil. Just a half-mile away, another rig is equally hard at work. But this one, operated by WaterBridge Resources LLC, isn’t seeking oil. It’s making a hole to dispose of the vast amount of water generated from local wells. (story continues here)

Happy 23rd Birthday Dual Activity, you are still defining the market today
As we see all of the recent reports of drilling activities picking up in selected basins, the deepwater contractors are still huddled around the table, at the end of each quarter, with their red pens out making cuts, even 4 years later, they are still not seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.
This is mainly due to two reasons:
- Market oversupply of vessel specification
- Available opportunities
The first is the hefty one, the second is standard market recovery muddle but for all deepwater contractors the first bullet point sticks hard because of technical specifications of a technology that began 23 years ago called “Dual Activityâ€. (story continues here)
