Saipem has been awarded new offshore drilling contracts in Romania and Abu Dhabi for a total value of over 160 million USD. The contract involves the drilling of a well in Romanian waters of the Black Sea. Work is scheduled to start in the fourth quarter of 2019. The Scarabeo 9 semi-submersible vessel will be used, a drilling unit capable of operating in the area, being able to reach it easily thanks to the predisposition of the lowering of the tower to allow the crossing of the Bosphorus.
Saipem also won a contract for drilling activities offshore Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. The works involve the use of the highly specialized Perro Negro 8 jack up, in continuity with the operations currently underway. The contract will have a duration of 4 years.
