London-based Seadrill Ltd. plans to lay off another 162 employees reporting to its Houston-based U.S. arm in the Gulf of Mexico.
The West Neptune was working for Kosmos in the Gulf of Mexico at Mississippi Canyon Block 727 on the Kodiak 2 completion well. The rig had one more contract follow up with LLOG that was scheduled to start the end of March.
According to Houston sources the rig will soon complete operations and be cold stacked.
