Shell will start, by mid-October, a new intervention campaign at Parque das Conchas. The West Tellus drillship, from Seadrill, is already sailing to the Campos Basin, with arrival scheduled for the weekend.
In addition to the intervention program, Shell’s new campaign will include the drilling of two wells, one infill in BC-10 and the other exploratory in C-M-791, a block awarded in the 15th round, both located in Campos. The work program will extend until 2022.
The campaign kicks off with the intervention operation in the Parque das Conchas pump module, followed by the drilling of the infill well in the area. Only after completion of the work at Parque das Conchas, will the rig be redirected to the C-M-791 area.
Before Shell, the West Tellus drillship was under contract with Petrobras. The unit drilled five exploratory wells for the Brazilian oil company.
The contract with Petrobras ended in mid-September. Before going to the location, West Tellus cleaned the hull in Angra dos Reis.
