
Staatsolie has signed a production sharing contract with Chevron for offshore Block 5. The block was offered as part of the SHO Bid Round 2020/2021, which was announced in November 2020. The blocks on offer were located in the west of the Shallow Offshore area, south of the recent deepwater discoveries made in Block 58 and northwest of the onshore producing fields. Closing date for applications was 30 April 2021.

Staatsolie Hydrocarbon Institute (SHI) had announced November 16 2020 the offer of eight new blocks in the currently unlicensed and underexplored Shallow Offshore (SHO) acreage of Suriname via a round of competitive bidding. The blocks are located in the west of the Shallow Offshore area, south of the recent deepwater discoveries made in Block 58 and northwest of the onshore producing fields. The data room opened on 30 november 2020 and bids were due by 30 April 2021.
