I wanted to start this off with saying how much I appreciate all of our followers out there and share a few things that have been with me my entire career as well as a few pictures to show ya’ll I wasn’t always a desk jockey!

From the beginning of my career the oilfield wasn’t what I thought it was going to be. At the time I grabbed an opportunity to get some benefits for my family but it turned into a lifetime of family, friends, places and adventures. Throughout all of those years there has been heartaches, trials, tribulations, good times, a hell of a lot of trouble but when you get into this line of business its not short term, if you are lucky enough to be able to make the first couple of years then its in your blood.

Along the way you grow up and learn how people live in other parts of the world outside your hometown city limits, you see the world in a way that you never would have sitting on your front porch back at the house. If you didn’t learn respect growing up, you damn well learned it here, if you didn’t have friends growing up, then you will get them here, if you never learned how to be humble, then this business will remind you of how humble you need to be everyday that you are breathing.

Be kind, be courteous, help those new guys, be tough when you need to be, but overall remember where you came from because you ain’t but a step away from that door hitting you in the ass. Look around where you are and thank the guys you are working with for looking out for you or when you look in the mirror in the mornings remind yourself why you do what you do, yeah its for the money but remember, its a lifetime of adventure that you would have never dreamed of having as a child.

Raise your glass to your accomplishments but never forget your failures when you are back on that front porch having a cold one or rocking those grandkids to sleep.

Semisub rig owner Dolphin Drilling has inked a new contract with Peak Petroleum in Nigeria for its 1974-built Blackford Dolphin.   The firm contract, which follows the letter of award in January, gives the Euronext Growth-listed owner of three rigs the potential to extend the unit’s backlog by a minimum of 120 days and up to 485 days. The deal adds to and will be a direct continuation of the previously announced 12-month contract with General Hydrocarbon Limited (GHL).   Øystein Stray Spetalen-backed company said the effective dayrate associated with the minimum firm period of the contract is $325,000, including the mobilisation fee.   “The final award of the contract for Blackford Dolphin shows the opportunities in Nigeria at a strong dayrate, in addition to building on the backlog for the rig. It also underlines the attractiveness of our assets, and we look forward to returning to revenue-generating operations in 2023,” noted Bjørnar Iversen, CEO of Dolphin Drilling.   Source: Dolphin   Join our mailing list here We are #1 on Google and Bing for the "Largest Mobile Energy Network" Come join our community!
