According to Baker Hughes data that was published on December 7th, 2018
At the end of 2017 the worldwide rig count was 2089
The chart below shows the change from month to month during 2018 up until the end of November 2018
For the past 12 months on record, it shows an increase of 177 rigs worldwide!
That is a 8.47% increase from 2017 year end.
Although we are seeing some larger drops in the North America region with Canada being the biggest reduction target at the moment with 80 rigs down from January 2018 to November 2018 but we want to remind readers that this count from December of 2017Â to November 2018 only shows a reduction of 7 units, in all respects not bad for a full year.
