Petrobras is looking to resume deepwater exploration in the Potiguar Basin in 2023. The reason for the resumption would be the drilling of a new well, which will delimit pitu's discovery. It is noteworthy that the state has five blocks in deep water in the same region.
The delimitation of pitu's discovery is in the most advanced stage of exploration and with two wells drilled. Recalling that Pitu's discovery was made in 2013 and confirmed by a second drilling two years later. The project was contracted in a round in 2005, through a consortium formed by Petrobras, BP and Petrogal.
