According to Esgian, an Oslo based company that provides analytical tools for the energy industry, noted that Saipem has confirmed various new contract awards and extensions for its offshore rig fleet.
The newly leased drillship Samsung Santorini, due to join the fleet in November 2021, has been awarded a contract with Eni for work in the US Gulf of Mexico, beginning in early 2022 and running until Q3 2023. Meanwhile, drillship Saipem 10000 has been awarded a fresh deal with Eni covering work in the Mediterranean, keeping the rig firmly committed until mid-2022 and with options until mid-2023.
Semisub Scarabeo 9 has secured a three-well plus three-well option contract with Eni Angola and semisub Scarabeo 5 has had its contract with Eni Angola extended until Q4 this year with further options available thereafter.
Meanwhile, the rig owner has also confirmed that Eni has declined the options on drillship Saipem 12000, for further work offshore Mozambique, and subsequently the rig will be released in Q4 this year. The rig is being marketed for other opportunities, including further campaigns in East Africa.
